I don't know why I am attracted to rustic kitchens so much. Maybe it's because I want to feel like the meal I have been preparing is as easy as life was then. I like my kitchens lived in, with people crowding around and laughing. It is no fair when the person cooking has to be alone in a little box. The great thing is that they never go out of style and while it may seem that it is a simple design, it is far from it.

Open Plan Kitchen/Dining
What I loved so much about my last house was that the kitchen and dining room were open to each other. It keeps the conversation going and makes whoever is cooking that night not feel like a prisoner. Everyone tends to hover in the kitchen at parties and every day anyway, so it makes sense to have them in one place.
