Love

Ceremony Site - Hotel Biba

Today I am celebrating 3 years of marriage! I have been looking at some wedding shots this morning and just remembering how good of a party it was. Intimate and boisterous. I tried to do as much as I could by myself and slowly made myself crazy. Not Bridezilla crazy. A friend gave me advice after his wedding, and I still give it to all the people I know getting married. All the things you think that matter don't. It doesn't matter what shade the napkins are, it isn't what people remember about that day.

My theme mixed my love of nautical prints with the Spanish elegance of black lace. That's an easy way to say it. I was all over the place in my design.  I had a lot of fun planning it though. Especially getting good deals on stuff.

I made my own save the dates with a friend.

The groom and I

My tribute to those friends and family that had passed. My family hated this.

Anyways, have a great Wednesday everybody. Will be back tomorrow with more design inspirations.

If I can make it there...

On the outside looking in

I went away this weekend. One of my best friends is packing her things up and moving to the Big Apple. This by no means is my first friend to do this, but rather someone my age (30 and change) who is leaving it all behind and starting something new. She was having a going away party this past weekend. It's bittersweet. I am beside myself though. I'm crazy happy for her, and yet devastated about missing her. I guess this is even more of a reason to go visit NY more often. Every time I go, I always say "Yes, I'll be back soon"...and then life gets in the way.

I also saw some family while out of town. My Tio (Spanish for Uncle) owns an Antique Shop in West Palm Beach's Antique Row. There are hundreds of antique shops down there. It puts Orlando's Antique Row to shame. I had a good time looking around his store. I drooled over so many items, especially the ones that were more than my salary.
Things are not what they seem

My uncle also gave me an awesome mid-century lamp. I'll take proper pics and post about it later this week. Right now, it's Monday, and life is getting in the way...

Jean Paul Gaultier

I've had dreams with Jean Paul Gaultier in them. Mostly we are in France, and we are acting crazy, and doing French things. I'm swooning over his new furniture line coming out. So pretty and so out of reach.

Jean Paul Gaultier and Roche Dobois have developed this new line of furniture. You can see the full collection here

Coco

I attempted to watch a movie on Sunday. I should rephrase that. I attempted to watch a movie with French subtitles on Sunday. Coco before Chanel had been on my list for awhile. Once upon a time it seemed to be a relaxing thing for me to do. I watched most of it, but ended up stopping it as I had a certain little girl who demanded my attention. I didn't mind. I need to cherish the times that she actually wants to hang out with me cause I know those days are numbered.

Anyways, Chanel holds a special place in my heart. In college I was lucky enough that when I worked at cosmetic counters it was for Chanel. I had my first small bottle (sample) from my mother before I was ten. I remember putting on Number 5 like it was liquid gold. It just makes you feel fancy. So for Mlle Coco Chanel today, I give you some beautiful black and white rooms.

We are huge in Japan

Husband and I at a Halloween party

Little placeholder so I can play catch up today. Husband and I went to one of our great friend's birthday/Halloween party. We scoured etsy the other week for some masks and came upon these two from Kennosborne. They were gracious and sent them out just in time for the party. We kicked so much ass.

Chair done!

I finally finished a project! I did have a little help. I was all grown up and brought a piece of furniture to get a cushion made professionally. I'm sure I could figure it out, but its been a LONG time since I've used the sewing machine. I bought this beautiful chair for $12 at my favorite hidden secret in town. I previously posted about it here.

My husband and I tried to find a fabric that would compliment the room and chair. We didn't want to get rid of the vintage green. We bought enough fabric to make two pillows for the couch as well. Husband and I sat in the living room last night just talking and admiring the beautiful room. We are scheming already on moving some furniture around, so I'm pretty sure I know what we are doing this weekend...

It's dark in here

The ballast in my office is out...so I am sitting in the dark. I have a table lamp, but am eagerly awaiting the electrician. Figured now is as good as a time as ever to put into the limelight some lighting.

Halloween Lanterns

I did this craft a few years ago and decided to revamp it as the sole lantern I had was starting to show a lot of wear and tear. I was able to find some orange and green lanterns on clearance at Pier One. I went ahead and bought a white one at full price however.

You can really do any design that you desire. I had an old bat template from Martha Stewart a few years back that I used. Here is the new one put out by her camp.

I also had a Fleur-de-lis stamp that I used for the white one. The shape of the lantern makes it impossible to do it everywhere. Even though it originally was what I wanted to do, I stuck with just putting it on the top and bottom.

If anyone decides to do this, I would love to see the design you came up with

Potato Stamped Fall Pumpkins

I know I have mentioned this before, but damn am I busy. Part of me just wants to be everywhere doing everything. I worked all weekend on a project which I promise to post the pictures to tomorrow. In the meantime, if I could afford to do anymore crafts, this is another one I would do, if I had the time....

Cinderella Papercut Template

Not that I need anymore projects to undertake. Yes, its great that I am feeling so creative but I just can't doooo et! I probably have a good dozen unfinished pieces of work to complete. One day when I find some more time, I'd like to tackle this papercut for the numerous little girls I know. Go to Cindy over at Scherenschnitte  to grab the template.
