A little hip hop for your morning. I am really digging B.o.B. If you haven't heard of him yet, you probably will soon. He has a very poppy song on the radio right now and his album is about to drop. Some of his songs are very Outkast influenced, which makes sense, cause he hails from ATL. He is a great sense of humor, which translates well into his lyrics.

We all know that outdoor furniture can get expensive. Anytime I have bought a set in the past it has been at the end of the season when its been marked down to clearance! I've been a fan of Knock off Wood for a long time now, so thanks to Ana for now giving me three immediate projects that I want to work on for this summer.

Don't you love when you find such a bargain that you get giddy at how ridiculous it is? Yesterday to kill some time, I stopped by my favorite used furniture store. They have a great selection of rotating goodies, and all with a fairly reasonable price tag. Imagine my surprise however when I saw this lovely green french velvet chair asking for a new home...and all for a mere $12!!!!!
I asked the shop owner if it was a misprint and she assured me it wasn't. They needed to free up some space. Yes, its missing a seat cushion, but I already have some ideas on how to handle that. It is in near perfect condition, no damage and very clean. My husband has determined that the dark area where the cushion would have been is indeed the original color of the chair, and more then likely this chair sat by a window for a long time. He already has a solution for that so we will try to lighten it, but I'm not in a hurry, especially if a new cushion will cover it.
Now...I am going back to said store in a few minutes to try and negotiate a purple bench I saw a few months ago. It is still there and awfully hidden and cramped in a corner. Very much forgotten. Wish me luck!
Throw back to my youth - Peter Max Earth Day poster @ Posters57
Happy Earth Day! Forty years young! I remember as a child understanding the importance of this day and now here we are, stronger then ever. I have noticed such a change even within my circle of life; people are more aware of how their carbon footprint makes a difference, cognizant of how their food is made, and attentive to so much more around them. It's hard not to be inspired.
I watched this back in December because some close friends of mine are involved in this project. Anytime I hear this classic Bob Dylan song, I am reminded of how simple and compelling the message is. The video features kids from a local high school riding their bicycles to school, reclaiming the road and their power. Orlando is notorious for having the worst bike and pedestrian safety record and these kids gave me hope that the younger generation will be able to fend for themselves.
I hope that you can be inspired today my friends. We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children (Native American proverb)

I have an upcoming project where I may be needing fabric on a huge scale in a bunch of different places (vague, I know). I already own about 50 yards of muslin cotton leftover from the French market party so I am already tossing the idea of painting that fabric or stamping it. However, I still would like to find some great bold prints as accents. I turned to etsy as I always do when needing inspiration and found these great finds. All yards are under $8!

Another request! A friend is looking for some ideas for a potting area. More importantly she is looking for containers to keep things stored outside. What a wonderful idea to carve out a space for you to play with your green thumb.
Seeing as most potting areas would be outside, what kind of containers would you use to keep all your supplies in? The elements can be cruel (especially here in Florida).
Take a vertical spice rack and maybe fill it with seeds? This rack is from Purpose Design
Vintage Wire Baskets from Stacia Marie
Apothecary Jars or any other type of glass storage container
Metal Storage from UK Based Ella's Kitchen. They do int'l shipping
French Country Canister Set on Amazon
Now off to find a space to make one of my own
