I have a love/hate relationship with wicker furniture. My design styles change a lot, but I've always identified wicker with what I would have found in a snowbirds Florida room. Basic and style-less. I'm changing my ways now and am willing to give wicker another try. Especially since I drove by a local antique store the other day and saw a darling little vanity painted in bright yellow. Passed by yesterday, and it was gone! I could have found a place for it somewhere.
Wicker is suitable for so many different types of homes in its versatile nature. The woven design is ideal for adding texture to any space and the natural material is warm and inviting. Wicker furniture usually comes unvarnished so changing the color up is easy. Plus, I visited a friend's home last night who had a three piece set that belonged to her grandmother. I told her she definitely had to keep it, just consider updating it.

I completely understand the love/hate relationship with wicker. The first piece of furniture I bought myself was a wood and wicker side table from pier one. I agree when it comes to painting furniture, wicker is the easiest by far. It definitely lasts longer if kept inside, but even then it needs tlc to last. I still love it though.
